01 · Overview

Sustaining the people carrying the teamwork

Within OUR DC, the DC Wellness Justice League is a cooperative environment for recognizing the physical, emotional, social, environmental, and practical Conditions that affect whether people can participate, contribute, and continue.

Its priority is Building Care: helping people and Teams strengthen the Conditions, relationships, practices, and supports that sustain well-being and participation. Its Players-centered position makes Care the starting point, while Planning, Organizing, and Administration help turn recognized Conditions into sustainable support.

The League can help people and independent Teams recognize and coordinate appropriate forms of support without assuming a diagnosis, a service relationship, professional authority, availability, or participation. People retain choices about what they share, what remains private, and which supports or relationships they pursue.

02 · Required Teamwork

What this League can help make recognizable

Sustaining shared work requires attention to the people carrying it. Wellness teamwork connects what people communicate about their Conditions with the Capacity, Connections, and Coordination that can make participation healthier and more sustainable.

  • Physical, emotional, social, environmental, and practical Conditions affecting participation
  • Care, wellness, accessibility, safety, rest, and support Needs
  • Knowledge and preparation for responding to changing Conditions
  • Healthy boundaries, privacy, consent, and appropriate referral practices
  • Relationships among peers, caregivers, practitioners, Teams, and community resources
  • Available Offerings and pathways to appropriate support
  • Follow-through and continuity that do not depend entirely on one person
  • Team practices that treat well-being as part of Required Teamwork
03 · Players

Wellness & Participation Conditions

What people communicate about their ability to participate, contribute, and continue.

People can communicate physical, emotional, social, environmental, and practical Conditions; accessibility considerations; concerns; and other factors affecting well-being and participation. Some information may remain private or be shared only with people chosen by the individual.

Building Care begins by listening without turning a person's experience into a public record, diagnosis, commitment, or request for services that they did not make.

  • Physical and emotional well-being
  • Social and environmental Conditions
  • Practical barriers to participation
  • Accessibility and accommodation considerations
  • Care, rest, safety, and support Needs
  • Personal boundaries and sharing choices
  • Changes affecting contribution or continuity
  • Information people choose to communicate
04 · Practice

Care & Wellness Capacity

The knowledge, practices, and preparation that can make care more sustainable.

People and Teams can develop wellness awareness, listening skills, accessibility practices, healthy boundaries, supportive routines, resource knowledge, and preparation for responding constructively to changing Conditions.

Planning with Pacing helps distinguish what peers and Teams can appropriately support from what may require specialized, professional, or emergency assistance.

  • Wellness awareness and education
  • Listening, observation, and supportive communication
  • Accessibility awareness and inclusive practices
  • Rest, recovery, and sustainable participation practices
  • Healthy boundaries, consent, and privacy
  • Recognizing when specialized support may be appropriate
  • Resource and referral knowledge
  • Preparing supportive Team responses
05 · Offense

Care & Support Connections

The relationships through which appropriate support may become available.

People may choose to connect with peers, caregivers, practitioners, community resources, service providers, accessibility resources, and other supportive relationships relevant to their Conditions.

Organizing these Connections with Trust requires consent, clear roles, appropriate boundaries, and honest information about availability. Identifying a possible resource does not establish a service, referral, partnership, or commitment.

  • Peer and mutual-support relationships
  • Families and caregivers where chosen and relevant
  • Wellness and healthcare practitioners
  • Behavioral-health and social-support resources
  • Accessibility and disability-support resources
  • Community-based and practical-assistance organizations
  • Team relationships that support participation
  • Connections made with consent and clear boundaries
06 · Defense

Care Coordination & Continuity

The Administration that helps appropriate support remain usable over time.

Care Coordination can include resources, referrals, schedules, responsibilities, privacy, safety, boundaries, follow-through, records, and continuity practices appropriate to the people and Teams involved.

Alignment helps prevent support responsibilities from becoming invisible or depending entirely on one person. It also helps Teams respect the limits of their role and maintain clear pathways when Conditions change.

  • Resource and referral Coordination
  • Privacy, consent, and information boundaries
  • Safety and accessibility practices
  • Roles and responsibilities for agreed support
  • Schedules, follow-through, and check-ins
  • Continuity when contributors or Conditions change
  • Appropriate escalation or professional pathways
  • Records limited to what people deliberately choose to share

07 · Natural Order

How the teamwork moves

Wellness teamwork begins by recognizing people's Conditions with Care. People and Teams can then develop appropriate Capacity, connect supportive relationships by choice, and coordinate responsibilities so support can continue without obscuring privacy, boundaries, or professional limits.
