01 · Overview

Developing the knowledge and preparation shared work requires

Within OUR DC, the DC Education Justice League is a cooperative environment for recognizing and connecting learning, research, teaching, mentoring, training, leadership development, and practical preparation across DC.

Its priority is Building Pacing: helping people and Teams develop Capacity in ways they can absorb, practice, apply, and sustain over time. Its Practice-centered position makes learning and preparation the center of gravity while connecting them to the Conditions that shape learning, the relationships through which people learn together, and the Administration that preserves access and continuity.

The League can support selected educational cooperation among independent Teams, organizations, institutions, practitioners, learners, and communities without implying enrollment, endorsement, partnership, authority, or participation. Knowledge remains connected to its source, and people and Teams retain authority over how they apply it.

02 · Required Teamwork

Learning Needs & Knowledge

What people communicate about what they know, need to understand, or want to learn.

People and Teams can communicate questions, experience, existing knowledge, learning Needs, research, lessons, source material, cultural knowledge, access considerations, and the practical responsibilities for which preparation may be useful.

Careful communication helps preserve source language, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and recognize that people enter learning spaces with different Conditions, experience, confidence, and access.

  • Questions and learning Needs
  • Existing knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Research and source material
  • Community, cultural, and lived knowledge
  • Information connected to Decisions and responsibilities
  • Access, language, and format considerations
  • Lessons from earlier work
  • Subjects people or Teams may be prepared to teach or share
04 · Practice

Learning & Preparation

How people develop Capacity at a Pacing they can use and sustain.

Learning and preparation can include teaching, mentoring, training, coaching, study, research, practice, reflection, leadership development, and learning through experience.

Building Pacing means matching the depth, sequence, format, repetition, and responsibility of learning to the people and work involved. It gives people opportunities to understand and practice before greater responsibility is required.

  • Teaching, mentoring, training, and coaching
  • Research, study, and guided inquiry
  • Practice, reflection, and applied learning
  • Leadership and professional development
  • Meeting and facilitation preparation
  • Refer, Do, and Train learning pathways
  • Accessible and culturally relevant learning methods
  • Pacing that supports understanding and continuation
05 · Offense

Learning Relationships & Participation

The Connections through which people teach, learn, practice, and apply knowledge together.

Learners, educators, researchers, mentors, trainers, practitioners, Teams, schools, organizations, institutions, and communities may connect around shared learning and preparation.

Trust grows when roles, sources, expectations, participation choices, and authority are clear. Identifying a potential learning relationship does not establish participation, partnership, endorsement, or responsibility.

  • Learner and peer relationships
  • Educators, mentors, trainers, and facilitators
  • Researchers and source contributors
  • Schools, libraries, and learning institutions
  • Community organizations and practitioner networks
  • Teams preparing for shared Decisions or Work
  • Leadership-development relationships
  • Cross-Team learning chosen by the Teams involved
06 · Defense

Learning Resources & Continuity

The Administration that makes knowledge and preparation easier to access and continue.

Learning Administration can include resources, materials, methods, schedules, registration, accessibility, records, attribution, standards, responsibilities, evaluation, and continuing opportunities to practice or learn.

Alignment helps connect educational activity to the Decisions, roles, Events, and Work it is meant to support while preserving source material and organizational knowledge for future use.

  • Learning resources, guides, and source materials
  • Schedules, access, registration, and participation logistics
  • Accessibility, language, and format support
  • Curricula, methods, standards, and evaluation
  • Attribution and responsible source use
  • Learning records and organizational knowledge
  • Connections between preparation and responsibility
  • Continuing opportunities to learn, practice, and develop

07 · Natural Order

How the teamwork moves

Education teamwork begins with what people know, need to understand, and are responsible for learning. People then develop Capacity through appropriately paced Practice, connect the relationships through which learning and application occur, and administer resources and continuity so the knowledge remains usable.
